The DOT return-to-duty process begins with an evaluation by a qualified SAP. The SAP recommends appropriate education and/or treatment, conducts a follow-up evaluation after completion, and prepares the required reports and follow-up testing plan.

Participate in the education and/or treatment recommended following the evaluation.
Follow-up evaluation
Return after completion so compliance can be evaluated and the next required documentation can be prepared.
